Christmas Card: December 22, 2014 TODAY’S WORD FOR MONDAY DECEMBER 22, 2014. A CHRISTMAS CARD FOR YOU FROM KEN AND DOTTIE PHILLIPS What a thrill it is for us to come to you each day with TODAYS WORD. Today we want to remind you that this is Christmas week and in just four days we will be celebrating Christmas, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. We are told much about the birth of Jesus in Luke 2. JESUS was born in a manger, because there was no room in the Inn. JESUS was born in Bethlehem because He was of the house and lineage of David as prophesied in the Old Testament. The angel spoke first to the shepherds who were tending their sheep in the fields about the birth of JESUS. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying: “GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, AND ON EARTH PEACE GOODWILL TOWARD MEN.” Our family (Six children and spouses and 20 grandchildren and spouses) want you to remember that: JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON Many will celebrate the birthday of Jesus by singing carols about Him and giving gifts in remembrance of Him, but never reflect on His life and the sacrifice He made for each one of us. As you read this well-known poem by James Allan Francis may your heart be blessed as you reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. ONE SOLITARY LIFE! He was born in an obscure village The child of a peasant woman He grew up in another obscure village Where he worked in a carpenter shop Until he was thirty when public opinion turned against him He never wrote a book He never held an office He never went to college He never visited a big city He never traveled more than two hundred miles From the place where he was born He did none of the things Usually associated with greatness He had no credentials but himself He was only thirty three His friends ran away One of them denied him He was turned over to his enemies And went through the mockery of a trial He was nailed to a cross between two thieves While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing The only property he had on earth When he was dead He was laid in a borrowed grave Through the pity of a friend Nineteen centuries have come and gone And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race And the leader of mankinds progress All the armies that have ever marched All the navies that have ever sailed All the parliaments that have ever sat All the kings that ever reigned put together Have not affected the life of mankind on earth As powerfully as that one solitary life Special Price Only $10.00Click Here for More ONE FINAL SUGGESTION.
