Christmas Eve....So many thoughts and emotions surge through me as I finish up the shopping, cooking, cleaning, wrapping, that go along with this time of year. Taking a break from it all....I am sipping my coffee, Josh Groban, in the background singing OH HOLY NIGHT I am once again, reading, through LUKE 2:1-20, about the birth of Jesus......THE SON of GOD. I am in complete and utter AWE. GOD....Yes! GOD, sent HIS SON, down here to earth from heaven......for US??!!! I dont know about anyone else, but that humbles me BEYOND any words that I can express. I go over the events of 2014, both public and private and wonder, HOW can GOD love us? HOW??? With all the ugliness in the world...in society, in each of us....HOW??? WHY??? Then I read verses 10 & 11, that say: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL PEOPLE. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Those two verses are the CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. GOD sent HIS SON, to ALL PEOPLE to SAVE us. Jesus Christ, is GODs MERCY. HIS GRACE. HIS LOVE. HIS FORGIVENESS.....HIS GIFT, to ALL OF US!! Amazing! The words, TO ALL PEOPLE echo through my mind and my heart and I sit here weeping that HE could see through all the filth in each of us individually & collectively, into all that we could be through the blood of HIS SON, JESUS....That HE chooses to see the cleaned up, sparkly and sanitized version of us and all we have to do is ACCEPT HIS GIFT.
