Christmas Message by Adrian Thomas Caretaker for St David’s Constituency for the National Democratic Congress It is with great pleasure that I bring you warm season’s greetings. Since I accepted the honour of being chosen as a candidate for our constituency, it has been a tough assignment. This is even more so as the late Michael Denis Lett passed on the baton to me with great expectations. Though I was unsuccessful on my first attempt to represent you, I now recommit myself to the noble task of representing the people of St David’s under the banner of the National Democratic Congress. Indeed, 2014 has been a challenging year. The economy is probably is the worst shape in decades. Unemployment and underemployment have imposed the scourge of poverty and destitution on our once proud people. Our communities once united and strong are becoming more fragmented and the basic tenets of human solidarity are being lost. As it stands there is not much to celebrate. This season of Christmas can be used to ignite the flame of our community spirit as we commit ourselves to rediscover the real meaning of the season. I urge you to reflect on the last year with the objective of learning from our mistakes and acquiring wisdom to better confront our challenges May peace reign over our dear land and the joy and goodwill which we all want to share. I make a clarion call for unity among our people. We must not let our political, economic, and social or other differences stifle the basic foundations of our civilization and compromise our sense of humanity. On behalf of my family and the Constituency Branch of the NDC, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and our heartfelt thanks for your continued support during 2015.
