How could you withdraw the soldiers of a sitting governor, prevent him from assessing his airport but instead open the airport for a former governor with dozens of soldiers led by a Garrison Commander of the Nigerian Army? Just because the sitting governor did not belong to your party, the PDP? To me such action is a big blow to our democracy. It is a mockery of the Jonathan Presidency, which is gradually metamorphosing into a dictatorship. President GEJ should learn a lesson from leaders who thought they could use their position to intimidate every perceived opponents. Where are they today? If the cabal at the time GEJ was to be made a Substantive President after the death of Umaru Musa Yar Adua were to use or manipulate the instrument of the military at their disposal then to intimidate him I doubt if him, being a minority, would have been President today. GEJ should know that he is rubbishing the same tenets of the rule of law and democracy that brought him to power in the first place. The National Assembly should call GEJ to order, pls. Civil Society groups and organizations around the world should act to save our democracy and call President GEJ to order. This is about our much cherished democracy and national interest. Nigeria is bigger than one person. Nigeria is bigger than GEJ.
