Chuck Todd allows republicans to lie which serves no good purpose. First, he said it was because it is not a journalists job to educate the reader. Now he says that access is more important than truth. I try to imagine what excuse he will use to justify his ego-centric career path. Now that he has a permanent news berth, other talking heads are gushing all over him like they did with Tim Russert. The point of journalism is the truth and a factual defense of yellow journalism and the promulgation of falsehoods and misinformation. Why would access to a liar be more important than standing up to the liar with facts? Todds self-involved pursuit of his career has negated whatever value that career could have to the public debate.
