Church bells... In the 1930s all the Bradfordsville churchs rang their bells on sunday morning to call all the Christian to worship. Our Mom (MOM ANDERSON) was the janitor for the Bradfordsville Methodist church, my brother Leland and myself would go with our mom on sunday mornings to help get the church ready for sunday service. In the summer months, we would open all the windows to a certain openness, lay out all the fan in the pews (they were donated by Drye funeral home) Then Mom would tell Leland and I to ring the bell. We would take the rope down off the hook on the wall and wed ride it to the floor, then let it go back up, Id ride it back up, then it would bring me back to the floor, Mom would usually yell at us Thats enough , wed hang the rope back up. In the winter months there were two potbelly stoves to build fires in. sometime during the week wed clean out the stoves and lay the fire for next sunday.
