Circa 1955. On the right is my Grandmother, Anna Felici, maiden name was Marino (and her mother was Josephine Scoles). She was born 122 years ago. She was widowed at age 42 in 1934 with 12 children and also 2 nephews whose Mother had died. She operated the family grocery located at 21st and Clearfield Sts. until her retirement in the early 1970s. Next to her is her older sister, Louise Cannoe. She was born in Montecorvino Rovella and came to the US with her parents. She was married to Nick Cannoe, who was a very successful builder in Philadelphia. Their first home was the original convent located at 2127 W. Indiana Ave. Later they moved to Willow Grove PA. This photo was taken in Atlantic City during during their annual vacation where they stayed at a rooming house on New York Ave.
