Circular No IR/528/13 To All Railway Branches, Regional Offices & Regional Councils Our Ref: BR2/14/2 9th September 2013 Dear Colleague STAFF PASSES – AUTOMATIC TICKET GATES The following resolution was carried at this year’s National Conference of Supervisory, Clerical & other Salaried Grades:- “This Conference instructs the General Grades Committee to ensure that the General Secretary informs all train companies that staff within our grades should receive the same dignity and respect as paying passengers from our employers by issuing all staff at locations with automatic ticket gates with encoded gate passes.” The resolution has been considered by the General Grades Committee and the following decision taken:- “That we note the resolution from our Conference of Supervisory, Clerical & Other Salaried Grades. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to write to all TOCs to ascertain how many allow access for staff to transit with their passes. Further, where access is denied, to request the reasoning behind their decision.
