Citation For Mahama Princess Diana MyBonosa, a name I fondly called you – a name that became viral among your peers. You are an embodiment of an ideal student. Respect, Modesty, Time-consciousness, Industry and Determination were the treasures of your luggage. These virtues endeared you so much to your teachers. You knew what to do, at what time and at what place. I can’t reminisce a singular incidence of you running afoul with the school’s protocol. Many a time, I shudder how you manage to get time to read your school books because you were always found with scary fat novels. Annotate that you were impeccable at the Queen’s – written and spoken. As a maths teacher, I never missed an opportunity to read your imaginatively pleasurable write-ups for there was always a word or expression to pick. “Annotate” is one of the words I learnt from you. I remembered those days I walked into your noisy class only to spot you unperturbedly glued to your books amidst hustle and bustle. You made me gave credence to the saying that “a concentrated mind is never disturbed.” You tried your best to form the Nerd Herd as a distinctive study group for like-minded peers. MyBonosa, you were simply amazing – there were instances you worked my questions as though you set them. You had your own orthodox style of handling obnoxious questions. If you can’t convince a child, confuse her! This is a saying I couldn’t practically use on you because of your “how?” and “why?” questions. I love challenge, you were my challenge, and I love you. You made your school and the teachers proud by scoring 7 ones in your BECE, Grade 6 – the best among your friends. Your academic laurels landed you in one of the most prestigious secondary schools, The Holy Child. I hope this is a harbinger for many more Holy things to come. But hey, this is just the beginning of the journey – no complacency. Keep working harder until your good become better and your better, best! The sky should be your Starting Point!
