Citizens of America- I appreciate all the acts of kindness and thank yous, but I cannot bring myself to accepting gratuities such as free food or meals simply because I am a Veteran on Veterans day. It does not feel right in my gut and it disrupts my moral compass in regard to accepting favors because of my position or rank. A simple thank you will suffice. If I could buy every American citizen dinner on Veterans day I would. I would rather express my gratitude to you for having had the honor of serving this great nation. Selfless Service is in our code. I would hope my fellow Vets dont forget this.
