City Manager Glen Davies is surprised and concerned at the response of the Employees’ Group after negotiation meetings today about the Civic Pension Plan. “We’re disappointed that the Employees’ Group would suggest that the Employers have walked away from the table,” says Davies. “We weren’t satisfied with the discussions, but we finished the day with the understanding that we would go back to our teams to talk about prospective meeting dates.” Davies adds that the Employer Group still hopes to reach a negotiated solution to make the plan sustainable and protect pensioners who built this community, employees planning for their future, and taxpayers.
