"City crews in Marseilles will be smoke testing sewers - TopicsExpress

"City crews in Marseilles will be smoke testing sewers today. Public Property Commissioner Jim Buckingham says they’ll start testing on Bratton Ave and work their way back to Orange Avenue. In preparation of testing, residents should pour about two cups of water into each floor and sink drain to prevent smoke from entering the home. Dry taps, drains without traps, unused fixtures or faulty plumbing may allow smoke to enter a home. But, Buckingham says, the smoke used by the City is non-toxic, leaves no residue, and created no fire hazard. If smoke does get into your home, ventilate it."~WCMY 1430AM
