City of Mississauga Storm Update Tuesday, July 9, 2013 7:20 a.m. MISSISSAUGA – City of Mississauga administrative offices are open for regular business. Community Centres and Library Branches: Community centres and library branches are open today, however residents are asked to call their facility and library branch to confirm operating hours and program schedules. MiWay Transit Service: Full MiWay service is running this morning. MiWay Transit is serving Islington Subway Station however at this time subway service is not operating between Jane and Kipling; there is a TTC shuttle in place. Mississauga’s ticket booth at Islington Subway Station is closed due to a lack of station power. MiWay Transit is also assisting GO Transit with a bus shuttle between Long Branch, Port Credit and Clarkson stations due to suspended rail service in this segment. Sports Fields: We are currently assessing our sports fields and users are asked to contact the Recreation Customer Service Centre at 905-615-4100 to confirm availability of fields beginning at noon. Facility Closures: Lakeview Golf Course is closed. Flooding Residents who have experienced basement flooding related to the storm can contact 311. If the flooding includes sewage waste, residents are asked to please select option #1 to be connected to the Region of Peel. The City would like to remind residents to be extremely careful around water and electricity and they are urged to contact qualified professionals and their insurance companies to report flooded basements. Residents should stay away from swollen creeks and rivers. City staff are continuing to monitor the situation.
