City residents are encouraged to attend I-26 ALT project meeting on Monday, November 17 6-8 p.m. at Charleston Progressive Academy (382 Meeting Street). Recognizing the need for transit alternatives along the I-26 Corridor between Summerville and Charleston, the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG), initiated the I-26 Regional Fixed Guideway Transit Alternatives Analysis study (I-26 ALT). The purpose of the I-26 ALT is to enhance regional mobility with transit along the I-26 Corridor between Summerville and Charleston. At the meeting, details will be shared regarding the study’s strategic process and timeline, the project study area, and the various transit options available for consideration. More importantly, the project team will be gathering public input on whether and how transit is used today, and what improvements in the system would prompt residents to use transit in the future. For more information about I-26 ALT and other meeting locations and dates visit i26ALT.org.
