City sign off their first assignment for the 2014/15 season with a point to show after what can be described as an exciting battle at SJP. Worth their lead at half time, perhaps for their opportunism as well as their determination, Exeter will perhaps agree that a draw was a fair outcome at full time as the visitors laid siege to our half for most of the second period. The efforts and concentration of the midfield and defensive unit, against a side who on this showing are worth their promotion favourites tag, earned the players an appreciative round of applause on all sides after the final whistle. While the legs will surely be tired after the first full speed encounter of the year, hopefully this match will give the side a platform to kick on with Bournemouth and Plymouth on the horizon.
