Civilian world can be scary, especially for a guy who spent half of his life wearing uniform. An average army guy has not a slightest clue on how to dress. You see, he learned how to dress as a college student, and his wardrobe education pretty much stopped at that level. I mean, I look very sharp in my uniform, so why bother to wear anything else? Plus in uniform, I never have to worry if my tie and shirt will clash with the jacket, because the Army has already decided for me which color and style is authorized. The problem is that as of next march I will hang my uniform in my closet, permanently. And what will I wear then? Well, there is a tailor in town, the guy is really good. I decided to go to see him to get a custom made suit for me. I thought that the most difficult part of the trip would be getting there because the traffic here is just crazy. Oh, by the way, I will never complain about D.C. traffic. Ever. As it turned out, being inside the tailor’s shop was even more stressful that getting there. I honestly thought I knew about suits, since I did wear one for my first communion, but when we started talking about the fabrics and styles, I realized that I am hopelessly lost. I need your help. I need to order a couple suits that will make me look like an apotheosis of an entrepreneur. Please keep in mind that will wear those in Hawaii. What color would you recommend? How to choose the right fabric? Should I go for pinstripes or I should not? Please help! The catwalk fashion show with its incandescent hype is its apotheosis. A ritualized gathering of connoisseurs and the spoilt at a spotlight parade of snazzy pulchritude; it is an industrialized version of the pagan festivals of renewal. At the end of each seasonal display, priesthood is enjoined to carry news of the omens to the masses. --Stephen Bayley (b. 1951), British design critic. Fashion: Being and Dressing, pt. 2, Taste (1991). Origin: Apotheosis derived via Late Latin from Greek: deification, from theos god
