Clare Grace bowed out of European Championships at the semi-final stage to Englands Stacey Copeland after four tough rounds in the welterweight class. It was a brave performance from the Kilkenny southpaw, who will be taking home bronze - shes the only Irish woman besides Taylor to medal at this level - from Bucharest. Earlier, Katie Taylor advanced to the 60kg final after recording a unanimous decision over Bulgarian lightweight Denitsa Eliseeva. In the corresponding semi-final, Frances Estelle Mossely sensationally eliminated Russias Sofya Ochigava, who Taylor beat in the 2012 Olympic final, to set up Saturdays gold medal match with the Bray woman.
