Clare has a unique set of talents and challenges. Its her way of embracing them both that makes her our Patient of the Month. Sometimes people can get caught up in a career that pays the bills but neglects to allow them to use their creativity and true passions. Great success and happiness comes when a person is able to meld these attributes together and use both. Then there are some who keep each separate and create a “day” job and a “night” job finding their satisfaction in a versatile schedule. Now if you throw in a newlywed, combined with a new mommy, you would be describing Clare Van Wetering, our December Patient of the Month. A Chicago native, Clare’s vision of the city varies each time she sees it. Behind the lens of her camera she captures moments of truth, seconds of spirit and raw images of the town and it’s people. Her scope is not limited to our city though. She loves to travel and learn about other cultures and to see all the beautiful places around the world taking her camera with her and recording every event in a very personal way. Clare quotes her favorite photographer, Paul Caponigro, “It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.” During the day, Clare works downtown as a recruiter for a healthcare consulting firm. Having both a degree in Human Resources and Psychology, she uses her skills to ensure her company has the very best people working on their team. She commutes from the northwestern suburb of Wayne, Illinois where she resides with her new husband, Ryan, and their new baby, Henry.
