Clarification on Malaysiakini’ s article of 26 November 2013 A recent interview and article featured in Malaysiakini “How homemakers sparked the light-up brigade has raised some queries from our donors and supporters as there appear to be duplication to our projects with those named by Lightup Borneo. For avoidance of confusion and in response to these queries, we would like to clarify on our projects undertaken to date. These are: · Long Kerabangan (commenced 5 April 2012, completed 5 August 2012) – those following us on this page will remember that this was implemented in collaboration with Lightup Borneo who provided technical support. · Long Tanid (commenced 26 June 2012, completed 27 June 2013) and Pa Brunut (commenced 1 February 2013, completed 29 June 2013) – whilst Lightup Borneo was involved in initial stages also on a technical basis, Barefoot Mercy eventually brought both these projects to completion independently. · Nanga Talong (commenced 18 October 2012, completed 13 July 3013) and Puneng Trusan (commenced 10 October 2013 and due to complete shortly) – implemented solely by Barefoot Mercy. All projects above were fully funded by Barefoot Mercy. In the meantime, we look forward to sharing good news soon from Puneng Trusan. Heres to all working to light up rural Sarawak, village by village....
