Clarifications: Ray Rice will have to work for a living now. - Ray Rice cleared $28 million with the Baltimore Ravens, even after taxes he should be fine even with the minimum of financial sense and planning. He will hit her again - Hes shown true remorse since the incident. They have been/are in couples counseling, its far better to wish that they break any cycle of violence and have a peaceful marriage going forward than to root for a relapse. Ray Rice should never be allowed to play football again If you ever cheered a Donte Stallworth (manslaughter) touchdown or a Suggs (domestic abuse) sack, youre a little bit of a hypocrite. Is your philosophy that ex-cons should also never be able to hold a job again? Its the courts job to punish lawbreakers, not corporations. Indefinite doesnt mean forever. I would expect the ban to be dropped after one season. The way I understand it the NFLPA will have to represent and fight for him in arbitration by union rules. It will be interesting to see if he decides to fight or walk away. It will be interesting to see if his agent drops him or not. (edit - looks like his agent is sticking with him). If another team would every pick him up is another matter. Honestly, if any team picked Ray up whenever he came back and he racked 3-4 TDs in the first game, that team, any of the other 31, would go nuts in the stands. Hell, even Ravens fans gave him a standing O at the Annapolis practice. We know you knocked out your wife, but since we didnt see all the video we are still going to cheer went to total outrage post video..... Perhaps they thought he knocked her out in a kinder, gentler manner before they saw the video. I think the NFL may actually look worse than Ray for their handling of the situation. Apparently lying about seeing the video prior to the net release. The only message theyve clearly sent is there is one penalty for domestic violence and a much harsher penalty when it occurs on camera.
