**Clark** Ally McCoist hopeful Rangers would be ready for Premiership cup test STV 2 November 2013 Ally McCoist is hopeful his Rangers side would be a test for any Premiership side if they were paired with one in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. The Light Blues progressed on Friday night with a 3-0 home win over Airdrieonians, with former top flight players Jon Daly, who netted a double, and David Templeton on target. Dundee United eliminated McCoists side from the competition last year but the manager feels his side should be better equipped this season. It would be another test, he said. If we get a Premiership side we will just have to deal with it when it comes. Weve got a group of players who have had top SPL experience so I would be very hopeful we could give a good account of ourselves against a top team. I would take a home tie, which would be great. I think thats all you can ask for. I wouldnt start singling out teams who we would want or want to avoid. I dont think we are in a position to do that but if somebody could offer me a home draw I would take that. Two-goal Daly scored his seventh in four games to take him to 14 for the season and McCoist is happy with the contribution of the Irishman. He said: Im delighted with Jon. His first goal was a great finish and the second one is the type of goal you would expect from the big fella. Its another two goals to his tally. I know he has set himself targets and I hope he is well on the way to reaching his targets and surpassing them.
