Clashes mark civil curfew in #Shopian Shopian, Sep 27: Amid violent protests a complete shutdown on observed in this south Kashmir district on Friday. The district observed civil curfew for the sixth consecutive day against the civilian killings by paramilitary CRPF. Scores of youth took to streets and fought pitched battle with police and CRPF. However, police swung into action and burst scores of tear smoke canisters to disperse the protestors. The clashes were going on till reports last came in. However no one was injured in the clashes, reports said. Pertinently five persons were killed by CRPF personnel deployed in Gagren on September 7 and 11. The locals said the civil curfew would continue unless the accused troopers are punished and the camp shifted from the area. Meanwhile, the residents complained of acute shortage of the essentials in the town. “We are suffering badly due to unavailability of the essentials particularly bread, vegetables and rice” the residents told Greater Kashmir
