Class Act INOV8......well, not really. My wife, Amber Reece-Young - TopicsExpress

Class Act INOV8......well, not really. My wife, Amber Reece-Young is going to kill me when she sees what I have written about what happened to her today, but I have got to get it off my chest. I know from both professional and personal life experiences that you do not write something down for public display when you are angry, so I pray I keep my thoughts tempered. Amber has been racing for Team Inov8 since 2008 and in my humble opinion, she has been an incredible ambassador for their products. She doesnt miss a beat in sharing their stories, writing blogs, taking pics of the shoes and posting positive comments every chance she gets to pay tribute for their sponsorship. It has always been so easy to do, because she REALLY believes in their shoes, products and apparel. She is an inspiration to many and often goes out of her way to help others both at her work and in her personal life. She constantly touts the Inov8 shoes to everyone....testimony after testimony of how they saved her career after a back injury and put her feet on the trails. There have been a few instances where she had opportunities for other shoe sponsors, not for Amber though, as she is loyal as it comes and would not even consider it. I could go on but I know you see where this is going so lets get to the point. This year many of you know that Amber became pregnant and with that great excitement of the joys of planning a family, she worried about her sponsorship. I foolishly told her no way anything negative would happen and that she would return stronger then ever before. Her plans were to continue being a great ambassador and train up to delivery, recover and compete again next fall. She notified Inov8 and they kindly responded......good luck and nothing personal, but you are no longer with the Inov-8 team due to blah, blah, blah and oh yeah, technical trail running events? Not sure what that means. I get it though....its the great wide, wide world of sports and $$ talks. Forget loyalty, forget taking chances, forget about course records, state records, representing the USA for the past four years in International competition, its all about producing right? All the time, no breaks for a family. I guess this is why so many women make these sacrifices. Loyalty. So sad. 2014 wasnt her best year. Sorry about that Inov8, maybe Amber could have tried just a little bit harder for you. I think I will stop here, but a big thank you to her other sponsors, especially the one that wants to do a piece on her training through pregnancy. Now thats a class act. #inov8 #discriminationrunson?
