I made an inquiry to the VA in reference to my benefits as a retiree spouse as opposed to an active duty spouse...my response from VA. Your husband is retired?? We will need his dd214 proof..blah blah etc. To update his file. I send said proof. Please allow 2 weeks for us to verify and update his file, then we can answer your question. Seriously if people do not think our government is broken and a bureaucratic waste of money, youre kidding yourself. This crosses all party lines and spans decades....the system as we know it is broken and full of loopholes and paper trails that end no where and cost Americans dearly on many levels.
