Clean Line is like that mosquito that just keeps buzzing around - TopicsExpress

Clean Line is like that mosquito that just keeps buzzing around your head. You know the one, right? You swat at it and think youve gotten it, but then it starts buzzing again. You swat at it again. The process repeats, but, eventually you get it. This is the way I feel about Clean Line. Theyre like the mosquito thats constantly trying to bite you. As we are all being affected by this, we have to remember this. As we are losing sleep, taking time away from our families researching, looking out across our properties imagining what it might potentially look like if this private company is allowed to use federal eminent domain to take our property to make a profit, and how this bad idea could potentially alter all of our lives, we have to remember this: there are 720 miles worth of people in the Plains and Eastern alone. There are people who are not only potentially going to lose their land, but also buildings and homes because of this. Clean Line is trying to construct five of these projects. This is unprecedented, folks. What is potentially occurring here is something that each and every one of us must play a role in stopping. I often reflect on why I am in the situation that I am in right now, and I can never come up with a good answer for that. When I am wasting time researching this, thinking about it, about my future and the future of the other people who could be affected by this when I could be doing something else, it absolutely infuriates me. It makes you want to give up, and that is what Clean Line wants. They want us to be complacent, and they want us to be ignorant of what theyre trying to do. We cannot be complacent, nor ignorant. This could potentially be approved, but never constructed. That so many of us are in such a position of stress so that the Tennessee Valley Authority can have a potential option is unconscionable. This is going to be a hard struggle for many of us until at least next October. In that time, there are going to be ups and downs, good days, and bad. We must not lose sight of the end goal, and that is stopping this bad idea. I, personally, just hope that the information and community that we are trying to provide here helps people to understand that this is NOT a done deal, and you are NOT alone in this fight. Democracy still works in this country, and what the opposition groups are doing across the five projects Clean Line is proposing is proof of that. We have to keep swatting.
