ClearNav Vario Upgrade Discounts - URGENT - Discount Expires on April 1st. If you own a ClearNav vario and you also purchased a ClearNav navigation display, you qualify for a discount of either $500 or $750. However, the discount is only available until March 31st. If you want to take advantage of the discount you must purchase the XC software upgrade on or before March 31st. If you have already purchased the XC upgrade, then please disregard this note. If you don’t own a ClearNav MFD (multi-function navigation display) then you do not qualify for any discount – but you should still upgrade your vario software ASAP (see below). The new XC (cross-country) software offers some great features such as a GPS flight recorder (soon to be IGC approved), task navigation, serial data output for PDAs and ClearNav displays, etc. IMPORTANT Previous beta versions of the XC software stopped working on Feb. 28th. It is therefore important that you install the latest version of the software before your next flight. There is only one version of the software. It defaults to the “Club” version but can be upgraded to the “XC” version by purchasing an upgrade. There is an upgrade fee of $750 for the new XC software. Customers that own a ClearNav navigation display and provide the units serial number can upgrade for $250. Customers that purchased the ClearNav vario and ClearNav Multi-function display (big color screen) at the same time are eligible for a free upgrade ($750 discount). For the discounted upgrades you must provide the serial number and receipt for the ClearNav display. If you bought it from me Ill have the receipt and serial number on file for you. Note: When the IGC approval has been received, customers will need to send their ADC units (not the display) to Gary at ClearNav for sealing. IGC approval should be received in a month or 2.
