Clifton Hicks is a great musician you should really know about. Clifton Fitzgerald Hicks grew up in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. He joined the Army at 18 as the war in Iraq was beginning. This short film explores his experiences in Iraq. This piece also features the song, German War that Clifton learned from George Gibson, who in turn learned it from WWI veteran, Mel Amburgey in Knott Co. KY. I met Clifton in Boone, NC as a college student at Appalachian State University.
