Climate and Paranormal Activity It is thought that certain weather conditions can enhance paranormal activity. This subject can be rather complex and a lot of theories exist but I chose to keep it simple and touch on the important points. I will also discuss solar and lunar activity later on and their relationship to paranormal science. Our weather is caused by the transference of energy (rain, wind, storms, etc.) and paranormal entities use energy to manifest thus it is possible that changes in weather conditions can impact paranormal activity. All investigations must include documented current and forecasted weather conditions for a chosen area. This ongoing log can be used as a tool to see if sighting patterns develop in relationship to weather conditions. Our bodies are electric. Each living cell generates a charge of about 1.17 volts. There is a magnetic field that surrounds each cell. It is thought that this electromagnetic portion of us is what makes up our soul. Many believe that ghosts are comprised of electromagnetic energy and that they use available sources of energy in the environment to manifest themselves. If theres more of that energy around at any given time such as during a thunderstorm we may be more likely to see an increase in paranormal activity. The theory with thunderstorms is that the entity is able to draw from the electrically charged surroundings to a degree that it couldnt during calm weather, thus becoming more visible or detectable to you. It is also fairly safe to assume that you, as the observer, are also being affected by the charged atmosphere, possibly achieving a higher vibrational frequency and enabling you to come closer to the frequency of the apparition which could result in a sighting. There is also a theory relating to relative humidity or the amount of water vapor in our air. Paranormal activity is thought to increase during the drier, winter months when humidity is lowest and static electricity is high. Weather condition information can also be used by the paranormal investigator to determine the potential for false positives when using photography in investigations. Conditions of high humidity and/or high pollen count can lead to false positives, especially when using digital cameras. Any orb anomalies captured under such conditions should be considered suspect. Solar activity or Space Weather The sun is also believed to play an important role in how conducive we are to apparitions and ghostly phenomena due to the electromagnetic and geomagnetic influences of the sun on our planet. The earth’s radiation belts help to protect us from the incredible energy of solar flares and the solar wind but stronger bursts can warp the belts and cause the particles within them to react, which results in a number of effects, one being the creation of the aurora borealis in the atmosphere. Most of us dont realize how often we actually go through a geomagnetic storm but it is believed to increase paranormal activity. Therefore, any serious ghost hunter should be aware of solar conditions at all times. A great source is SpaceWeather which can be found at spaceweather. I have the tab up on my computer and check conditions daily. You can also get text alerts sent to your phone. Moon Phases As the moon circles the Earth, the shape of the moon appears to change; this is because different amounts of the illuminated part of the moon are facing us. The shape varies from a full moon (when the Earth is between the sun and the moon) to a new moon (when the moon is between the sun and the Earth). When the shape changes, it also has an effect on the geomagnetic field. Most believe that the magnetic fields are the strongest on the days around the full and new moon cycles. Spirit activity is found to be more prominent during these times.
