Closing Time To the New Owners Of My Home, I find it harder to - TopicsExpress

Closing Time To the New Owners Of My Home, I find it harder to draft this letter than I thought I would...so bear with me. Notes about your new home...12/30/14. First, when I decided with the Cavagnaros about the design, my thought was to have a home here that made sense, meaning it looked like it was appropriate to the area; hence the saltbox. I visited the house almost daily while it was being built, trying to imagine what the finished product would be like to live in. I watched the progress and the workers. I brought them coffee and donuts and thanked them. We painted at night, the kids and I and some friends. Under the master bedrooms finished floors, there are paintings my kids made in the first blue color I had the bedroom painted. Our names are written in the cement outside the small garage door. I started to garden almost immediately, excited for the blank canvas. I laid almost every single stone in this yard; somedays, you will hate me for that. I promised my mom she would have any garden she wanted for trusting in me that we could share a home, and I honored it. She would come out and enjoy the progress, and bring me water. My kids knew that if I was out there still at 5 p.m., it was La Bellas for dinner again. Felice loves us. Tell the folks at Callanders you bought Hilarys house, ask for Alan or Bob. Although Bob may not talk much, he knows the yard and the stone. I lived with my mom for 37 out of the 42 years I had her and she was a remarkable woman. She didnt pass at home; I think she knew thatd be too much. Your home has no ghosts. But, I have lost pets who loved that yard. I hope you get to use the invisible fence and get a dog that becomes equally spoiled by the UPS guys dog biscuits. I surprised my kids with the pool. Its a one piece pool, so they set it in in a day, my kids beyond thrilled. The neighborhood kids and they spent endless hours in that pool, me weeding all the while. My life has taken many turns over the past few years and although this is tough, it brings me such joy to know you love this place like I do. I hope it brings you equal or more happiness. Ted and Ann are the best neighbors you could ask for. Keep an eye out for Ms. Gloria at the end of the road, shes amazing and probably the most gracious and grand woman Ive ever met. I hope that when things break, as they will, you will know that I did my best because I loved that house. I hope when the garden is in full bloom and when you wake up and see the sunrise over the farm across the road, it takes your breathe away. I hope you find the love of your family with you, as I did, and I hope you love your house. The very best to you and yours. Happy New Year. 12/30/14.
