Closing on my house in 3 hours….getting my hair done right after that... priorities :p ….my beautiful sister arrives in Raleigh shortly after that….and the move begins. So thankful for her willingness to jump on a plane and come ready to help me! My heart bursts with gratefulness for her! Building this house has been a pretty big stress for me…so many emotions involved. The end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Fear of being tied to a mortgage and tied down to one place. I am an adventurer….sometimes I worry this house might hold me back….. I have had several people tell me I am blessed. I have had a few people private message me and ask me why God gave me a house and not them. I dont believe God gave me this house…I believe that he gave me gifts and talents to do well at my job and I chose to purchase a home. You dont have to agree with that statement, but it is what I believe. I believe God gives us things like wisdom, the beauty of nature, each other…not houses or cars or designer hand bags….or.…things. Many times throughout the past 7 months of building I have wondered if this was really the best choice for me to make…. One thing I know for sure….this house does not make me happy….it is NOT the source of my happiness. Loving people makes me happy….connecting with people, celebrating them, hearing their stories, telling them mine, laughing together, working together, eating together, leaning on each other when we need it. Just doing life TOGETHER…. this brings me great happiness. I hope my new house is full of just that!
