Clouds will stick around tonight and itll be on the cool side. Expect overnight temperatures to drop into the low and mid 30s. Winds will become light and variable. The Halloween forecast is looking a little better, although we cant completely rule out a passing shower. Low pressure will drop south out of the Great Lakes region into the Ohio Valley. This will keep most of the showers to our west, but as we head into the evening hours, a few will be possible, especially to the west of Elmira. Temperatures for the trick or treaters during the evening hours will be in the mid to upper 40s. Overnight temperatures will drop into the upper 30s, just cold enough for perhaps a few snow showers to mix in with the spotty rain showers, especially on the hilltops. Low pressure on Saturday will head from the Ohio Valley towards the North Carolina Coast. Once again, this will tend to keep any steady precipitation out of the Twin Tiers. Were forecasting spotty rain showers with temperatures topping out in the upper 40s. At night, the coastal storm will head up off the New England Coast, allowing much cooler temperatures to filter into our neck of the woods. Any lingering rain showers will mix with snow showers at night with perhaps a few locations picking up just a coating of snow by Sunday morning. Sunday will be cold and blustery with early clouds giving way to mostly sunny skies. Afternoon temperatures will struggle just to get into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but it will feel much colder when you factor in the winds. A moderating trend is expected beginning early next week. Under mostly sunny skies, expect temperatures to top out the lower 50s. More clouds will push back into the region on Election Day with highs in the upper 50s. An approaching cold front will bring the chance for scattered showers Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the mid 50s.
