Cloughaneely events @ Derryveagh Health & Wellbeing Week The local community health forum is pleased to list some of the events in the Cloughaneely area taking place as part of the 1st Derryveagh Health & Wellbeing Week. The week of activity runs from Monday 31st March to Sunday 6th April. Monday 31st: A Stroll Through History, a gentle stroll starting at the YARD, 11am, guided by local historian. Everyone invited to the launch of the new Community Health Directory and the Mens NCT health check at the YARD Falcarragh at 3pm. Gentle Chair Aerobics - during the break at evening Bingo, Community Hall, Falcarragh. Tuesday 1st. Gentle Chair Aerobics at the YARD 10-10:45am (€3 each). 11am Sudershan Kriya - Simple Exercise and Breathing at Cumann Cairdeas, at the YARD, led by Ganesh Healing. Cloughaneely groups and individuals are invited to an informal meet-up with statutory health and social care providers and community organisations called Making The Links at Ozanam Centre, Dunfanaghy from 1pm Wednesday 2nd: Community Gardening Expert day - all Derryveagh people are invited to this experience sharing event at the YARD, 12noon to 4pm, with beekeeper, Green Chef, tour of a garden etc. U3A Gortahork Healthy Activity (depends on the weather) ring 087 287 4933 for details. Thursday 3rd: 10-12noon Gobble Gobble Sip Sip fun nutrition activity at Páistí le Chéile Parent and Toddlers Group. 10:30-12:30 Well Baby Clinic (first of a bi-monthly service)- launch of a new drop-in clinic for maintaining babys health for families in the Derryveagh district - Creeslough, Dunfanaghy and Cloughaneely areas. At the Dunfanaghy Health Care Centre. 12:30 - 2pm Souper Dooper ‘Open Door’ Soup Making demonstration at lunch-time drop-in at Garradh Cholmcille, Station Road, Falcarragh. Friday 4th: National Schools Soccer Blitz!- At Wild Atlantic Camp, Creeslough. From 10am to 2pm spectators (and cheering!) most welcome at the new Astro Turf facility. Schools from the three townlands will compete for the Derryveagh Champions League title!!! YoutHealth - Fun activity programme at the YARD Youth Centre with transport from Creeslough and Dunfanaghy (& return). bus at Church car park Creeslough 5:45pm, returns at 9:20pm. Zumba, relaxation, dance, spot prizes - 12-20s welcome. Also Teen Challenge - a workshop for people wanting to set up teenage youth projects and activity in their areas - targeting Creeslough and Dunfanaghy. YARD youth work staff, Donegal Youth Service staff and experienced volunteers on hand at 7-8pm workshop at the YARD. All welcome ring 0860841433 for information. Saturday 5th: Wellness Taster sessions at Ballymore Hall - 11am to 2.30pm. Come and meet a range of local therapists and complementary healers for information, taster sessions and advice. Free of charge but might be busy... so get there early! 3pm Family Fun Walk and Picnic - Ards Friary. Come along to take part in either the gentle coastal stroll (40 mins) or the 5k forest walk. Bring a picnic (and your teddy bear!) and make it a fun family day out. Sunday 6th: Join the Ballymore Circle of Friends for a Glenveagh Park Walk. Meet at Glenveagh Car Park 12 Noon.
