Club Notes with Fergus Walls. MINORS Our minor squad faced Turin in Robinstown on 16th March in their first match of the Div 2 League. In the first half our lads played with the wind and showing some skillful touches had notched up a 2:09 to 1:01 lead by half time. The second half continued in similar fashion and we eventually ran out winners with a score line of 3:17 to 1:05. Overall it was a great team effort, with excellent hurling skills and determination throughout. JUNIOR HURLING An initial outing in Division 4 brought a recent 3-11 to 1-16 victory against Delvin in Robinstown. Points from Damien Kiernan and Cian OLeary helped to lead the way, but the main scoring plaudits went to Darragh Geraghty who bagged two goals which proved crucial against a competitive Delvin effort. Other notable contributions came from youngsters Paddy Lynam (from frees) and Conor Bracken (in goals), while Cian OLeary can be happy with his contribution from open play. A late Devlin free went over the bar as Plunketts held on to claim victory by the minimum margin. Furthermore, training goes ahead as normal on the night and we may have underage helmets and hurls available to be purchased if required.
