Club Welfare Officer Support and Information Events As part of the ongoing support Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA provides to our network of volunteer Welfare Officers, all Club Welfare Officers (CWOs) are invited to attend a Support and Information Event. The theme of these sessions are around responsibilities and requirements of grassroots football in relation to the Protection of Freedoms Act (POFA). It is therefore extremely important that all CWOs make every effort to attend. There is no cost to attend but you must be the CWO or Assistant CWO for an affiliated Youth/Junior Club in this area. Each event will look at: •The FAs Safer Recruitment Guidance •Who needs to have a Criminal Record Check (CRC) in line with the new guidance •The timeline clubs need to plan for around renewals of CRCs •Online systems which support CWOs Event times are 6.30pm-9.00pm on the following dates: Wednesday 4th December 2013 - Ice Sheffield, Sheffield Thursday 5th December 2013 – Rotherham United, New York Stadium, Rotherham Wednesday 11th December 2013 – Balby Carr Community Academy, Balby, Doncaster Monday 16th December 2013 – Barnsley Rugby Club, Shaw Lane Sports Complex, Barnsley To book a place go to the following link https://eventspace.thefa/sheffieldfa/participant/s.aspx?eventlen=55 Please contact Clare Taylor, County Welfare Officer if you have any queries. clare.taylor@sheffieldfa Tel: 0114 241 4992
