Co-pilot in last contact with ATC: Malaysian officials The chief executive of Malaysia Airlines said on Monday that the last call received from the missing flight #MH370 was sent out at 1:19 am by the 27-year-old co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, and the plane’s ACARS was switched off between 1:07-1:37. The information was revealed during the latest press conference by the Malaysian government on the missing plane inquiry and international efforts to search the #MH370 flight. Hishammudin, the country’s Transport Minister, told the press that the Malaysian police have been investigating the families of the flight crew for days, and believed that the communication systems on the plane were deliberately switched off. The police have visited the homes of the pilot and co-pilot twice and so far have found little evidence linking the simulators at the pilot’s home to the disappearance of the plane. Further investigations are still underway. He added that a total of 26 countries are now participating in search and rescue operations, divided between the south and north corridors. Australia has accepted a request from Malaysia to lead the search operation on the possible southern route with Indonesia. He reiterated that Malaysia hasn’t held back any information, and it had been cooperating with the FBI and Interpol since the first day of the rescue operation. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has called Malaysia side to expand the scope of the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight, and to provide more accurate and comprehensive information regarding this issue.
