Coaching Centers Association rejects statement of Chairman BOPEE Srinagar, June 24: The Coaching Centres Association vehemently rejects the statement of Chairman BOPEE to conduct the so called ‘internal inquiry”. Terming it a hush-up policy the Association demands immediate arrest of BOPEE officials and an impartial inquiry as the incident will have a far reaching adverse affect on the decaying academic environment in the Valley. The criminal silence of Govt. at higher level is also a clear indication of the deep conspiracy. Be it BOPEE, SSRB or PSC - the corruption has become an “accepted” practice and the officials concerned have a deep nexus with the agents involved in the scam. The unbridled malpractice in the selection/examining boards is brewing distress and frustration among thousands of students who burn mid night oil to seek the selection in tests. Many aspirants even leave studies half way as the institutions entrusted with the job of selection are losing credibility day by day. In fact the authorities are working as tools for the corrupt bureaucrats and ministers. The recent leakage of papers and subsequent postponement of examination has put the students at cross roads as they will miss the opportunity to explore admission in other parts of the country due to the expected delay in the selection list, leave alone the wastage of time and energy. Had such a scam happened elsewhere it would have attracted national attention. The fast eroding credibility of the BOPEE has shattered the dreams of thousands of students. In view of the serious nature of the incident the Coaching Centres association strongly condemns the role of BOPEE and impresses upon the Govt. to order a CBI inquiry into the incident which has become a routine in the selection process. The Association warns the Govt. that it will come on roads to save the future of students if proper probe is not initiated in the matter. (KT)
