Coach’s Corner 1/15/15 “The reason we need Jesus!” The other day I was helping out our basketball team and I was watching one of our key players. It was just so obvious that he was getting more and more frustrated with his teammates because they weren’t playing up to his expectations. The problem was what the key player didn’t see was all of the mistakes he was making because he was trying so hard to do everyone’s job. Relationships are a lot like this, or in other words, our sin looks much worse when we see it on others. But what we all need to do is recognize and acknowledge our short comings, accept that we can’t do it all on our own, and pour the same grace onto others that Christ has poured onto us. We are all broken in some way and until we recognize this we will always fall into the trap of judging others or being disappointed because they don’t meet our expectations. The question is, who have you disappointed because you failed to live up to their expectations? Relationships shouldn’t be based on perfection but acceptance, forgiveness, grace, and Jesus. Relationships based on total agreement aren’t worth the name and “a three strong cord is not easily broken.” In His Grip, Coach
