Coastal Waters Wind Warning For Sandy Cape to Point Danger, including Moreton Bay. Issued at 4:55 pm EST on Monday 1 July 2013 Synoptic Situation A high [1033 hPa] lies over South Australia. A low [1006 hPa] lies off the southeast coast of Queensland, approximately 150 nautical miles east of Cape Moreton. The low is expected to deepen and move slowly southeast over the next 24 hours. Gale Warning Double Island Point to Point Danger Southeast to southwesterly winds 30 to 40 knots. Seas increasing to 4 metres. East to southeasterly swell 4 to 5 metres. Strong Wind Warning Gladstone to Sandy Cape, including Hervey Bay. Winds are believed to have eased below 26 knots and so the warning is CANCELLED for this section of coast. Strong Wind Warning Sandy Cape to Double Island Point South to southwesterly winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas to 3 metres. East to southeasterly swell 3 to 4 metres. Strong Wind Warning Moreton Bay Waters South to southwesterly winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas 1.5 metres. Easterly swell 1.5 to 2 metres near the northern Moreton Bay entrance. The next warning will be issued by 11 pm AEST. Please be aware Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
