Colac Dairy Classic Sale Invitation to Sell To all members. Our Committee would like to invite you to submit cattle in our inaugural Colac Dairy Classic Sale. Our aim is to showcase the outstanding cattle we have in our area. It will be compiled with predominately Holstein and Jersey with a smaller number of other breeds. The Sale is to be held on Saturday 2nd November 2013 at the Colac Showgrounds cattle sheds commencing at 7.00p.m. This will coincide with the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Colac Agricultural Show. Our Sale Committee comprises 12 members who represent Holstein, Jersey, Illawarra, Brown Swiss, Guernsey and Ayrshire breeds. The stock agents will be DLS and Charles Stewart Brian Leslie will be the Auctioneer. Brian has also accepted an invitation to judge the Holstein section of the Show. The Judge for the Jersey section is Mr Patrick Buckley from NSW. This will be a led sale. The preference will be given to in milk 1st and 2nd calving cows out of VG, or higher, classified dams, springing heifers and elite pedigree heifers. We are looking for approximately 40 to 45 cattle for the Sale and all cattle are to be registered within their own breed. Bulls, embryo packages or AI straws will not be required. A committee member from each breed will arrange to view the animals prior to selection. Bedding and hay will be provided. A fitting team will be available, for your cattle, if required. We have been fortunate enough to obtain a substantial amount of sponsorship which will help subsidise the cost of the Sale Catalogue. The event will be advertised via the Sale catalogue and each breeds newsletter, on line via the Colac Dairy Classic Sale face book page and DLS website. Also, 2 weeks prior to the Sale it will be advertised in local newspapers and the Weekly Times We are very excited about the concept of this Sale and hope it is an event you will be able to support.
