Cold Water Challenge - Recently the Cold Water Challenge craze has went viral in our community. The challenge entails jumping into cold water and then nominating 3 others to do the same. The challenge originally started out as a charity fund raiser for a cancer survivor; if you take the challenge you make a small donation to the charity, if you decline the challenge you make a larger donation to the charity. People are now doing it because its fun and entertaining. Some of those involved in this are doing the challenge in Lake Tomah, jumping off from the dock located in Winnebago Park. The City of Tomah has an ordinance against swimming in Lake Tomah. The ordinance states No person shall swim in Lake Tomah except while in the course of engaging in water skiing, aquaplaning or similar activity not otherwise prohibited by this article. We are supplying this information to the public and asking that you refrain from conducting the Cold Water Challenge in Lake Tomah. Thank you.
