Color chart for a portrait of 2 subjects. I usually dont do this, - TopicsExpress

Color chart for a portrait of 2 subjects. I usually dont do this, but I watched a tutorial in which an artist used raw umber, burnt sienna, naples yellow and titanium white to create skin tones for three various complections. He first mixes the colors, making a color chart to create 5 distinct shades for each subject. This is proving a challenge. I Tend to mix a lot on the canvas, but this time I wanted to get scientific. My color charts are still a bit sloppy, but I am making progress. Pre mixing these colors has taken hours... I sure hope it saves hours too. I put my mixed paint into little dixie cups for storage. I have another portrait to do after this and I am sure the extra premixed paint will come in handy. Dixie culs help me to prevent waisting paint. I love it!
