Cold front is much slower to arrive than expected as it is only crossing the region this morning. Therefore its still very mild as you head out. The back edge of a line of showers will continue to affect areas east of Monroe this morning. Temperatures today will not move more than 5 degrees and hang in the low and mid 60s. Rain will overspread the entire region later this evening. Rain and chilly for tomorrow morning with the rain ending from west to east in the afternoon. Storm totals may exceed 1 inch of rain east of I77. Thanksgiving day looks chilly with a fair amount of morning clouds then more in the way of sun for the afternoon. Friday looks cold and sunny. Dry weather and moderating temperatures will take place over the weekend. TRAVEL: The NC mountains will receive some snow late tonight into tomorrow, and the higher elevation roadways may be slick. If you are heading north tomorrow beware of the potential for snow west of Interstate 95 for Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday night. The most snow should fall in western New England.
