Cold were the winter nights that rained through the whole of December. Nothing much ever happened, I seemed to recall. I would put my clothes on, stare out the window for a minute or two before leaving the house, walk to work, mutter hello to any person that happen to pass me, get in to work, watch people go about their daily lives. Nothing ever happened on December. There was one night where the shop was as empty as the antarctic. The isles were clear of the lousy, whiny children who would take out items from their mothers basket and throw them onto the ground. I never noticed it but the tiled floor looked exceptionally clean, there was something about its clear smooth surface that I found so entrancing. I looked closer, and closer, and closer, until the reflection of a man came o sight. I peered my head up and saw a man in a hunting cap and camo overalls. His shoes left a trail of mud, and his gloves were dripping wet. And there it was, the floors were ruined. Our eyes locked for a short while, I wanted to look away but had to assert my dominance. He gave out a loud sigh before he left. I didnt think much of that until I came back to my house. What a strange looking man. I thought. There were fantasies- no, not fantasies, they were more of my imagination playing with me- where I believed that he was standing outside my house, waiting on the other side of the road. Just waiting. I dont know why I thought this but it was and if it was, it was so. I got ready as usual this morning. Put my clothes on. Stare out the window before I leave. Walk to work. Mutter Hello to people.
