When I was in elementary school our computer class was mainly typing lessons. Those werent incredibly helpful by themselves. Most people hated them, but I ended up having my parents buy the typing software so I could practice at home because I thought it was fun. So Id just do that in my free time when I was home during 3rd grade. Ended up being able to type 60 WPM, which was fast enough to beat all of the challenges on the software, so the teacher let me play computer games all year while all of my classmates had to learn how to type!
