College lecturer attacked over love marriage A private college lecturer received grievous injuries on Thursday, when a close relative of his wife attacked him for marrying her without her parent’s consent. According to Chaitanyapuri police, both Maheshwar Reddy, 32, a lecturer in a private college and Gayatri, 23, his cousin had love marriage recently. Parents of the girl were against the marriage. Provoked by their helplessness, the maternal uncle of Gayatri, Parmeshwara Reddy, 35, resident of Lingampally developed a grudge. On Thursday afternoon, he visited Maheshwar Reddy and attacked him with a rod on his head. With bleeding injuries, the victim was shifted to a private hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Chaitanyapuri police registered a case under Section 307 (Attempt to Murder) of IPC and began investigation.
