Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council Presents: Two Diagnoses, One Person: The Unintended Consequences of Two Systems for People with Dual Diagnoses Thousands of Coloradans with intellectual developmental disabilities also experience some form of mental illness. To receive treatment, these individuals and their families must navigate two separate systems with inconsistent rules, regulations, and funding sources. Recognizing this problem, the Colorado Collaborative for Autism and Neurodevelopment Disability Options (CANDO), in collaboration with JFK Partners, undertook a study called the Gap Analysis to assess gaps in services, providers, and funding for dually diagnosed people. The Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council (CDDC) is pleased to host a discussion, led by Carol Meredith and Corry Robinson, on the findings, recommendations, and next steps for the recently completed Gap Analysis. Carol Meredith is the Executive Director of the Arc of Arapahoe & Douglas Counties and co-chairs CANDO with Corry Robinson, the Executive Director of JFK Partners. Please join us for what promises to be an informative and timely session on a topic of great importance to Colorado. We hope you can all join us to listen, learn, and add your thoughts to this critical issue.
