Come Out of the Closet and Declare the Truth November 09, 2013 Matthew 5:14–16 Key Verse: Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. It is time to come out of the closet. I mean what I say. It is time for us to come out of the closet—and for all the right reasons. My passion is to step into public and religious arenas at God’s direction and put everything on the line by challenging ungodly systems that hold people in bondage. It is time for God’s people to strip away the false cloak of secrecy our secular society has imposed on us and come out into the light. It is time to take a stand for the King and His kingdom! The prophets of the Old Testament often paid a dear price for their calling, because they were often the lone voice speaking the truth in a world of darkness. We have the same mandate today, but we are many! We face the same devil, but he has already been defeated at the cross. We possess the same weaknesses and fears as the prophets of old, but we have the Holy Ghost dwelling within us and the name of Jesus on our lips. Best of all, we have the promise of God’s Word: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4 nkjv). What are we waiting for? Prayer Heavenly Father, I want to do Your will and proclaim Your kingdom with boldness, but I know I cannot do it in my own strength or ability. Grant me a holy boldness to stand up in the face of men and demons to declare the kingdom. Anoint me to speak as a prince of the kingdom and as an oracle of God in Your name.
