Come and Join Pistay Dayat Opening on April 11 Updated 11 hours ago PISTAY DAYAT OPENING PROGRAM SET TOMORROW, APRIL 11, AT 4PM Lingayen –The provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. invites the public to take part in the most-awaited opening ceremonies of Pangasinan Pistay Dayat (Sea Festival) celebration on March 11, friday, 4PM, at the Capitol beachfront. Festival Street Dancing and Drum and Lyre Exhibition will lure crowd’s attention at 4PM at the Capitol beachfront before the opening program at 5PM which will be led by Governor Espino. Governor Espino will be joined by Department of Tourism Regional Director Martin Valera and Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. along with other officials of the province. After the program, guests and participants of the Pistay Dayat opening will move from the beachfront to the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC) compound for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the “7th Pangasinan Tourism and Trade Expo,” the largest convergence of trade and industry in the province this summer season, as well as for the “Opening of the photo exhibit.” At 6pm, the crowd will be entertained by a guest orchestra with special participation of GMA star Yasmin Kurdi. The expo dubbed “Aliguas ed Turismo tan Ekonomiya” runs from April 11 to May 10. At least 120 exhibitors -- Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), tourism-related establishments, Local Government Units (LGUs), special interest groups as well as restaurant and food-services entrepreneurs -- from Pangasinan and neighboring provinces even as far as Cebu, Bicol and National Capital Region (NCR) will display on their booths a wide-array of best products, consumer services and promotional exhibits of tourist destinations. Provincial offices of the following government agencies -- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Trade Industry, Department of Science and Technology and PhilHealth -- along with offices from the provincial government -- Solid Waste and Management, Agriculture, Social Welfare and Development and Veterinary -- will also put up their booths. Visitors could also view the display of bonsai trees and shrubs within the compound; and satisfy stomach cravings by hopping through food stalls and kiosks lining at the back of the Veterans’ Memorial Park. Nightly activities which include musical entertainment and film showing are also set for the visitors and spectators to relish fun and enjoyment. Winners of best dressed booths for food, gifts/toys/handicrafts/and furniture categories, respectively; best in landscape – open category; best in One-Town-One-Product (OTOP)/LGU exhibit; and best tourism exhibit will also be announced during the awarding ceremonies. The photo exhibit will showcase the highlights of the previous and recent celebration of the Agew na Pangasinan and Pistay Dayat and other big events of the province. /MG
