Come and celebrate National Science Week at TMAG, with a variety of fascinating, free activities on offer for all ages. The TMAGgots are hosting two “Film Nights at the Museum” on Wednesday and Thursday this week. They’ll be screening the best of the touring SCINEMA films in the Central Gallery, so come prepared to be amazed and enthralled by some fantastic short science documentaries. And for those who miss out the first time around, there will be an encore screening of the films, looped back to back, on Sunday in our Centre for Learning and Discovery. Also on Sunday, the TMAGgots will be hosting “Science Meets Art: Nature Printing and Gyotaku”. Drop in for some fun, hands-on activities and experiment using ancient fish printing techniques to explore cutting edge science. On Saturday there’s also a chance to meet and talk with a CSIRO scientist and get up close to real equipment and instruments used in Southern Ocean and Antarctic science research.
