Come walk with us! For the past six months, we have been diligently working to organize a community wide event to showcase the health benefits of exercise. After all, EXERCISE IS MEDICINE! We are pleased to announce that Forsyth County now has an official Walk with a Doc chapter (see link). Please consider joining us for our FIRST OFFICIAL WALK WITH A DOC THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13, meeting at Northside Hospital Forsyth at the Womens Pavillion under the tent. (1200 Northside Forsyth Dr, Cumming, GA 30041). Registration begins at 4:30 PM and walk begins at 5:30 PM. We will walk outside for 1.1 miles weather permitting, and inside for 3/4 mile in case of inclement weather. This will be a monthly event, on the second Thursday of each month, so if you cant come next month, please join us at a later time. Our mission is to become the largest WWaD chapter in the country, which means we need to have over 200 walkers at each event. In collaboration with the Cumming Forsyth Chamber of Commence, Envision a Fit Forsyth, Northside Hospital Forsyth, Amedysis Home Health Care, Forsyth County Parks and Rec, Northeast Georgia Heart Center, The Heart Failure Clinic at NSF, Lambert High School HOSA chapter (the largest in the country), Dr Jay Darji and Dr Ellie Campbell, we have organized the chapter, built the website, begun to attract corporate sponsors, had several unofficial walks, and cooperated to set the date for our kick off event.
